The La Luna Lounge's Texas Grand Slam will be holding a Poker Tournament.
The tournament will consist of eight heats and a final table.
The winners of each heat will win a weekend away for two to the versace hotel in Queensland including flights and $1,000.00 spending money as well as a seat at our final table on 28th July 2006 with $10,000.00 worth of chips and a one in twenty four chance to win our major prize.
The first runner up and second runner up will win a poker package as well as a seat at our final table on 28th July 2006 with $8,000.00 & $5,000.00 worth of chips and a one in twenty four chance to win our major prize.
The other five players of each heat will each win a poker package.
The overall winner of our poker Tournament will win a Holiday for two people flying to
Las Vegas staying at the Bellagio Hotel for 7 Nights, with $5,000.00 spending money and the buy in to a World Poker Championship.
The game we are playing is No Limit Texas Hold'em. Texas Hold'em is the most popular variety of poker played today. Players receive two cards face down, followed by a round of betting. After the first of four rounds of betting, three cards are "flopped" face up in the middle of the table and are used as community cards, meaning that every player can use the cards in the middle, as well as their hole cards, to make a hand. After the second round of betting, the fourth card (called the "turn") is placed face up in the middle. After the third round of betting, the fifth card and final card (called the "river") is placed face up in the middle. Then the fourth, and final, round of betting occurs. With all the cards out, each player tries to make his or her best five-card poker hand using the five community cards and the two cards in his or her hand. Needless to say the best hand wins.
Players will be charged $120.00 per person for a gourmet all you can eat buffet dinner, and the poker tournament with the chance to win over $4,000.00 worth of prizes per heat and the overall tournament prize valuing over $40,000.00
The winner of each heat will be sponsored for our final table.
